ABOUT

NOMADsignal is the moniker of Dominican-German-American recording artist, composer, and DJ, Nicholas Schwab. Born and raised in Miami, USA, Nicholas began writing electronic dance music in 2011 after being inspired by his view on the second floor of the VIP section at his first concert ever: Tiësto. Shortly after that, while competing at the 2012 London Olympic Games as a swimmer for the Dominican Republic, he wrote his first signed record titled “Freedom.” He made a deal with dutch label Menza Records, officially starting his professional recording career. By 2013 he had published a 4-track Electro House-styled EP on Peak Hour Music under Nick Schwab titled “Wake The Neighbors.” Between 2014 and 2016, however, he took a hiatus from the music industry, spending time traveling, moving between Santa Cruz, California, and the Dominican Republic, and reconnecting with a deeper way of life. By the end of 2016, Nicholas had returned to South Florida and began working on a new sound, channeling an effortless unreleased LP titled “Artificial.” Inspired by the movie The Signal, he took on the alias “NOMAD.” During Miami Music Week in 2018, he connected with CEO Dan Bagley of music label Global305 for a series of bass-heavy electronica 2-track EP releases spanning through the summer of 2019. The common name “NOMAD” would pose publishing challenges, so Nicholas decided to add ‘signal.’ He has been known henceforth as NOMADsignal.

In early 2019, while preparing content for his then online blog with a DSLR camera in hand, Nicholas met Miami-based DJ and producer Denzo one night at Treehouse in South Beach. Introduced as an employee for Markus Schulz, Denzo notified him that Coldharbour Black, a techno-driven division of Markus’ record label, was seeking new talent. With a series of records ready for the occasion and after review from the label, he wrote three more tailor-made records and signed and released his first EP titled "Rontgen" to Coldharbour Black almost a year later in February 2020. Shortly before, touring had just begun, with an opening for mau5trap’s Blackgummy at Treehouse Miami to end 2019 and closing for No Mana in February 2020. By May 2020, a second EP titled “Pitchblende” was released, containing fan favorites such as Somatic Effects and Cesium-137. By the end of 2020, he had remixed Markus Schulz, was invited to contribute personally to the In Search Of Sunrise compilation for its 16th iteration, released a third EP titled "RBMK," inspired by the Chernobyl incident, received radio play from Paul Van Dyk and Sander Van Doorn, along with a NOMADsignal guest mix feature for Identity Radio. 2021 saw NOMADsignal touring continue, including opening for Markus Schulz, a Coldharbour Night in Miami and Brooklyn, and solo tour stops in Houston and San Francisco, alongside another contribution to In Search of Sunrise 17 and singles such as Make Me Crazy and Exclusion Zone. NOMADsignal’s tour continues through 2022, having played Groove Cruise Orlando, Avalon Hollywood, and festivals in Brooklyn, NY, and Montreal, Canada, along with a remix for Nifra’s Resistance and his first vocal collaboration featuring Ukrainian-Hungarian singer Nikol Apatini titled “To The Ground.”

As of March 15, 2023, Nicholas has officially launched The NOMADsignal Club, offering fans and listeners the opportunity to gain access to new and exclusive content throughout the year while funding NOMADsignal projects through subscriptions. 2023’s public releases brought a focus on cinematic-infused electronic music as seen in Wolf Mountain and Phantom. NOMADsignal hosted the International Saturdays at Club One11 Boca, in Boca Raton, Florida for a series of months leading into 2024.

2024 has seen NOMADsignal continue with his collaborations with Ukrainian talent such as cellist Polina Faustova on The Revenant, singer-songwriter Nastya Mendus for their new version of the traditional Ukrainian Spring ritual song Shchedryk, gaining support from XM Radio’s Austin Kramer, and rock star Valentyrya for a 138 bpm Classic Trance record.
